Why ESM for B-1/B-2

Why families across Punjab choose ESM

The B-1/B-2 interview is 2–3 minutes long and the officer's decision is final. We have spent 18 years building one process: prep your DS-160 with surgical accuracy, structure your financial and tie-to-India evidence, and rehearse the exact questions Delhi and Mumbai consular officers ask.

Over 3,000 approvals later, this works for first-time applicants, families visiting children in the USA, senior citizens, and clients with prior refusals.

3,000+ approvals

18 years of B-1/B-2 cases — for families, individuals, business travellers, and senior citizens. We know what works.

Perfect DS-160 filing

Every field of your DS-160 is reviewed line-by-line. The form cannot be edited after submission — we make sure every answer holds up under interview scrutiny.

Mock interview coaching

We rehearse you with the exact 8–12 questions Delhi and Mumbai officers ask for B-1/B-2 visas — not generic questions from online lists.

Refusal recovery

Previously refused under 214(b) or 221(g)? We analyse the original case, address the specific weakness, and rebuild your application for re-application.

Happy Indian travellers enjoying their USA vacation - Times Square, Disneyland, Niagara Falls

Step by Step

Your B-1/B-2 visa journey, step by step

From first consultation to your stamped passport — here's exactly how the process works with ESM.

1

Profile assessment

Free consultation at our Chandigarh office or over WhatsApp. We assess your purpose, ties to India, financials, and travel history to plan the strongest possible case.

2

Pay MRV fee & create profile

We guide you through creating your ustraveldocs.com profile and paying the $185 MRV fee. The receipt unlocks your DS-160 form and appointment booking.

3

DS-160 application

We fill your DS-160 form line by line — every answer is reviewed for accuracy and consistency. The form cannot be edited once submitted, so we triple-check before filing.

4

Book consulate appointment

We secure the earliest available slot at your preferred US consulate (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, or Kolkata) and confirm the appointment letter.

5

VAC & biometrics

Visit the Visa Application Centre for fingerprinting and the digital photo. We brief you exactly on what to carry, what to wear, and what to expect.

6

Consulate interview

Attend the interview with confidence after our mock sessions. The decision is typically given on the spot. Passport with visa stamp arrives in 5–10 days via courier.

Documents

Documents you'll need for B-1/B-2

The core documents every applicant must prepare. We provide a personalised checklist based on your case.

Valid passport

At least 6 months validity beyond intended US stay, two blank pages. Old passports with prior visa stamps strengthen the case.

DS-160 confirmation

Submitted DS-160 confirmation page with barcode, plus the MRV fee receipt and appointment letter from ustraveldocs.com.

Financial proof

Last 6 months of bank statements, 3 years of ITRs, salary slips or business proof, and FD/investment statements. Officer wants consistency, not one-time deposits.

Employment / business proof

Employment letter with leave approval, salary slips, company NOC on letterhead. Business owners: registration, GST, balance sheet.

Ties to India proof

Property ownership papers, vehicle registration, marriage certificate, children's school records — anything that shows you have reasons to return.

Sponsor docs (if applicable)

If visiting US-based family: invitation letter, host's passport/green card copy, host's last 3 bank statements and tax returns, proof of relationship.

FAQs

USA tourist visa questions answered

What is the B-1/B-2 tourist visa?
B-2 is for tourism, family visits, or medical treatment. B-1 is for business meetings, conferences, or negotiations (not paid employment). Most Indian applicants receive a combined B-1/B-2 visa valid for up to 10 years with multiple entries.
How much does the US tourist visa cost?
The MRV fee is $185 (approximately ₹15,500), paid to the US Embassy before booking the interview. This is non-refundable. ESM charges a separate, transparent service fee for end-to-end visa assistance — quoted during your free consultation.
How long can I stay in the USA on a tourist visa?
The visa itself is typically valid for 10 years with multiple entries, but the immigration officer at the US port of entry decides each visit's permitted stay — usually 1 to 6 months depending on purpose. Overstaying invalidates future entries.
What is a 214(b) refusal?
Section 214(b) is the most common reason for tourist visa denial. It means the consular officer was not convinced that you have strong enough ties to India — job, property, family — to ensure your return after the trip. ESM specialises in building 214(b)-proof cases with the right financial and tie-to-India evidence.
Can I apply if I have US-based relatives?
Yes, absolutely. Visiting family is one of the most common reasons for travel. You'll need an invitation letter from your host, copies of their US ID (passport or green card), their financial proof, and evidence of your own ties to India. We structure your case to demonstrate genuine return intent.
How much bank balance is required?
There is no official minimum, but you must demonstrate the financial ability to cover flights, accommodation, and trip costs without working in the USA. A consistent bank balance with regular transactions is far more credible than a lump-sum deposit made shortly before applying.
My tourist visa was previously rejected. Can I reapply?
Yes, you can reapply immediately — there is no waiting period. But you must address what changed since the refusal. ESM analyses your prior 214(b) or 221(g) case, identifies the weakness, and rebuilds the application with stronger evidence and a revised interview strategy.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. Walk into our Chandigarh office (SCO 375-376, Sector 35B) or speak with us on WhatsApp. We review your profile, assess your approval chances, give you a realistic roadmap, and quote our service fee transparently — all at no cost.
